                  Media HW: Lucozade

This brand, introduced in 1927, is an umbrella name for sports drinks. The producer, GlaxoSmithKline (United Kingdom), “is a British multinational pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare”. Varying from still, fruit based and isotonic drinks, these drinks are designed for people who are active, concerning sports. Lucozade is also the leader in Safe Sports Nutrition. Their products are run tests on, to prove that no banned substances can be found in them.

Advertisement: It makes me want to do the things that the people in the commercial are doing, like skating, or rolling down a hill whilst playing the drums. Lucozade have also featured celebrities in their adverts, like Tinie Tempah and “The James Cleaver Quintet”. Also, recently, they have gotten in contact with athletes who competed in the London Olympics. Louis Smith, who specialises in the pommel horse, did an advert featuring their new motto “Faster. Stronger. For Longer”, where he swings around, perfectly.

Brands Image: It’s mainly directed towards teenagers, and people in their twenties. It represents youth, freedom and fun, being a bit adventurous, and last of all, being full of energy. Their new motto is “Faster. Stronger. For Longer”, which can be seen “Sport” Lucozade’s.

Values: The average price of an energy drink is £1.16, and you can get “Sport” Lucozades for a pack of 4 (500ml bottle), 95p per bottle, not bad for an energy drink that’s healthy, and tastes good. Also, personally, whenever I drink it, I feel refreshed.
